DESCRIPTION:Trekkers’ 3rd Annual Thomaston Trek 5K/10K Run & 5K Walk on June 5 \nTHOMASTON\, MAINE – Trekkers will host the 3rd Annual Thomaston Trek 5K/10K Run & 5K Walk on Sunday\, June 5. This year’s event will start and finish at the Thomaston Academy/Thomaston Public Library\, located at 60 Main Street in Thomaston. The family-friendly fundraiser is perfect for all ages and all levels of walkers or runners. This year’s lead sponsor for Thomaston Trek is First National Bank. \nAdvance online registration for Thomaston Trek is $25 per person at www.active.com. The registration fee on the day of the race will be $30. Registration includes a free event T-shirt and post-run pancake breakfast at The Slipway Restaurant\, located near the Public Landing in Thomaston.  A prize will be awarded for the winners in designated age categories (male and female: 13-25; 26-40; 41-55; 55+) in both running distances. A trophy will also be presented to the fastest runner 12 years of age and under. \nCheck-in and registration will take place from 7:30–8:00am. The race begins at 8:30am and will be held rain or shine. Parking for the run/walk will be available at the Thomaston Academy/Thomaston Public Library. Additional parking will be available at the St. James Church\, immediately adjacent to the Academy with an entrance on Gleason Street. \nRoutes for both the 5K and 10K wind through the historic residential streets of Thomaston. There will be water stations and intersection volunteers to direct runners and walkers along the entire route. \nThomaston Trek is open to the public. Community members are encouraged to participate in the 5K/10K\, and attend the pancake breakfast from 8:30–10:30am at The Slipway Restaurant. The breakfast is free for registrants. Non-race participants are welcome to attend the pancake breakfast for a $5 donation. Proceeds from the event will benefit Trekkers’ programs for local youth. \nTrekkers is a non-profit\, outdoor-based mentoring program that connects young people with caring adults through expeditionary learning\, community service and adventure-based education. Trekkers serves over 200 students from 7th through 12th grade from the six communities of Cushing\, Owls Head\, Rockland\, South Thomaston\, St. George and Thomaston. \nFor more information about Thomaston Trek or to learn about event volunteer opportunities\, please contact the Trekkers office at 594-5095 or email shari@trekkers.org.

DESCRIPTION:The race takes place on Sunday\, June 19\, 2016 @ 9:00 AM. Kids’ fun run is at 8:15 a.m. The race fees are $15 if you pre-register and FREE for those 10 and under if you pre-register. It is $20 (and $5 for those 10 and under) on race day. The kids’ fun run for kids 10 and under is free (don’t register them on Active so you don’t pay any fee for them). Kids 10 and under can race the full 5k if they want to. DO register all kids running the 5k. Register on line only.  Go to: www.leavittfathersday5k.com.\n\nThe race is at Leavitt High School\, 21 Matthews Way\, Turner\, Maine. The race is a central Maine woods trail and field 5k on Father’s Day morning to help raise funds for the Leavitt cross country team. Walkers are also welcome. Same timing system as for official high school races. Race begins behind high school by track and football field off Lower Street in Turner. \nAge group prizes; special raffle for father/child combinations; shirt to first 100 registrants. Divisions are 10 and under\, 11-14\, 15-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, and 70 and over.

DESCRIPTION:As a part of our Celebrate Husson Day on June 25th\, Husson is hosting Run for the Gold\, a fun color run! Registration is $10 per runner and will include a drawstring backpack. The run is a 5k is begins at 9:30am.\n\nThere are also events all day long on campus after the run and we highly encourage members of the community to join in on the fun! Activities include a outdoor concert and food truck festival on Boucher Field and then The Los Lonely Boys in the Gracie that evening.
