DESCRIPTION:Bangor YMCA presents the 5th annual “Tri for the Y” sprint triathlon and sprint duathlon. \nJoin us at Bangor YMCA’s Wilderness Center at Camp Jordan for this “Old School” sprint triathlon and sprint duathlon on Sunday August 28th. \nTriathlon is 750meter swim in pristine Branch Lake\, 20K bike on the hilly dirt roads around Branch Lake\, and 5 K run through the woods. \nDuathlon is 5K run through the woods on the tri-course\, 20K bike on the tri-course\, 2.5k run through the woods. \nThis is an “Old School” event! Before Tri-bikes existed triathlon was raced on road bikes or street bikes or hybrid bikes. So\, leave your fancy Tri-bike at home!  And bring your spring-trainer beater-road bike or your hybrid-bike or your cyclocross bike or your mountain bike! This is NOT for nice bikes. The bike portion is on some paved roads but mostly compressed dirt\, so leave your skinny tires at home ! Come have fun at this throwback event ! \nBoth events occur simultaneously. DESCRIPTION:Download Entry Form \nThe Dynamic Duo is a totally unique race to this area and held on the Bucksport High School XC course. The format has male / female partners each running 3 miles as a relay team. Categories are determined by combined ages and places are determined by combined time. Each runner gets an individual time as well and each duo age group winner wins a prize. The course is almost entirely groomed crushed gravel trail and starts and finishes on the H.S. Football field. The race is a fundraiser for the Bucksport High School XC team and costs $20 per couple. The race starts at 8AM and registration begins at 7AM at the football field. DESCRIPTION:Monmouth Fair 5k\nDate: Sunday\, July 31\, 2016 \nStart Time: 8:30am \nWhere: Monmouth\, Maine \nHosted/sponsored by: Monmouth Fair Association \nContributing Sponsors: Friends Folly Farm\, Friends Folly Farm\, Jim’s Custom Sawing and Bushhogging\, TBA \nEntry Fee: Early registration through July 24th\, 2016 at midnight $20. Late and Day of race registration from July 24th\, 2016 at 12:01am $25.  With each entry the runner will receive a one-day pass to the 2016 Monmouth Fair – Monmouth\, Maine held August 4-7. \nAge Group Divisions: 14 & Under / 15-18 / 19-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 / 70-74 / 75-79 / 80+ \nPacket Pick-up: Packet pick-up is available Sunday\, July 31st\, 2016 from 7:00a.m. until 30 minutes before start of race. \nDay of Race Registration: Day of race registration is available starting at 7:00a.m. up to a half hour before the start of the race. \nDistance: 5K measured course on road finishing on Monmouth Fairgrounds \nCourse: start in front of Monmouth Fair/Monmouth Academy south down Academy St..  Right onto Main Street headed south.  Turn right on Blue Road headed west. Turn right headed east onto Norris Hill Road.  Turn left headed north on Academy Street (away from Monmouth Academy) for .4 miles.  Turn around barrel back down south towards Monmouth Academy/Monmouth Fairgrounds.  Turn onto Monmouth Fairgrounds follow chute toward finish. \nParking: Parking available on the Fairgrounds or at Monmouth Academy or Monmouth Middle School.  Parking is available at Monmouth Fairgrounds will be limited to up to 10 minutes before race and after all finishers have crossed. \nAwards: Prize money will be awarded to the top Male finisher ($75) and Top Female finisher ($75). There will also be an award to the top finisher in each age group for each gender. \nRaffle: There will be a raffle of donated items at the awards ceremony. \nT-shirts: The first 50 entrants by 7/17/2015 will receive a race t-shirt. \nTiming: Timing will be provided by Lakers Timing.

DESCRIPTION:Viking 5k Race/Walk \nfor Education \nSaturday\, July 30th – Sears Island \nA 9am race on beautiful Sears Island with NO vehicular traffic! Race takes place on conservation land. Course starts with a hill and ends going down the same hill into the finish line – it’s an island loop! A portion of the loop is packed gravel\, the rest is a wide paved avenue. Prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers (male & female) in each age bracket: 0-12\,13-18\,19-29\,30-39\,40-49\,50-59\,60+ \nT-shirts to the first 50 registrants. \nEntrance to the race is $15.00. \nRace is professionally timed. \nWe welcome serious runners and walkers\, alike\, to beautiful Sears Island! You won’t have to try to dodge traffic\, or inhale car fumes\, in this race! There is no vehicular traffic on the island\, making this race the only one of its kind in the area.
