DESCRIPTION:Challenger 5K Space Race\nand Open House\n March 31\, 2018 \n \nChallenger invites you to launch into the spring running season with the second annual Challenger 5K Space Race on Saturday\, March\, 31!  Run with your family & friends in Bangor on Saturday\, March 31st.  This fun event will raise funds to help the Challenger Learning Center of Maine fulfill its mission to inspire STEM learning and career aspirations for Maine students. \n Photos by Jeff Kirlin\nRace Schedule: \nSaturday Morning\, March 31\, 2018 \n8:00-9:30: Race bib/packet pick-up & race-day registration accepted \n10:15: 5k Race begins \n11:15 ish: Awards \n \nRace Course: \nThe race will be held at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine. \nAddress: 30 Venture Way\, Bangor\, ME 04401 \nFor best directions\, click here \nThe Race will start and end at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine’s parking lot.  Runners will proceed up a hill on Venture way\, turn onto Texas Ave and loop back after reaching the MPBN parking lot.  This loop will be completed twice. \nRace Registration: \nPre-Registration Prices- \n$30/runner\, age 15 and older [pre-registration price ends Wed.\, March 28. 2018 at 9:00 PM] \n$20/runner\, youth to age 14 as of race day [pre-registration price ends Wed.\, March 28. 2018 at 9:00 PM] \nkids 3 & under\, free \nDay of Registration Prices– \n$40/runner any age [race-day registration price\, Sat.\, March 31\, 2018 from 8:00-9:30 AM] \nkids 3 & under\, free \n  \nFree Challenger 5K space race t-shirt to the first 30 registrants. \nRace registration includes race bib\, participation medallion\, and NASA swag bag. \nChallenger t-shirts and water bottles will be available for purchase on the day of the event. \nPhoto by Jeff Kirlin \nPrizes: \nTop overall male / female finisher \n1st place for each age category\, male & female \nCategories [15-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60+] \nRandom prize drawings for youth 4 years to age 14 \nPhoto by Jeff Kirlin\n  \nPre-registration race bib & packet pick up: \nRunners are encouraged to pick up race bibs and packets early.  Dates/times available for early pick up at the Challenger Learning Center: \nThurs.\, March 29th: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\, 5:00-6:00 PM \nFri.\, March 30th: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\, 5:00-6:00 PM\n \n  \nRace Requirements: \nA race bib is required to run the race.  No dogs allowed.  Strollers are allowed.
