What: Second Annual Spawning Run 5K hosted by the UMaine American Fisheries Society Student Subunit
When: April 30th at 9 am
Where: 5755 Nutting Hall, University of Maine, Orono

Proceeds of the run will contribute to our subunit’s Outreach and Education Fund. This money will be used to develop programs with local middle and high schools to bring fisheries and aquatic science into the classroom to teach children about the vibrant aquatic community in the Penobscot River and the state of Maine. The event will begin in front of Nutting Hall on the University of Maine, Orono campus. Registration opens at 8 am on race day in the Nutting Hall lobby. The course will take participants through the University of Maine campus and bike trails, and will finish back in front of Nutting Hall. Both runners and walkers are welcome! All runners will also receive one raffle ticket as part of their registration, and there will be prizes for the best fish costume!
